HIV/AIDS Theme Group

The Joint UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS is the forum to plan, manage and monitor a coordinated UN system HIV/AIDS response.  The Joint UN Group on HIV/AIDS ensures optimal UN support to country responses to HIV/AIDS, defines policies and strategies for support to the national response through providing interagency technical inputs and, in particular, identifying and exploiting opportunities for complementary and joint UN action on HIV/AIDS.

The Joint UN Theme Group on AIDS consists of the respective UN agencies’ (UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNFPA, WFP, WHO, ILO) programme officers or focal points with responsibility for HIV/AIDS-specific or HIV/AIDS-related programmes. The Chair of the Joint UN Theme Group on AIDS is the Head of WHO Country Office.
