On 1 May 2005, Ms. Anahit SIMONYAN took up her position as the Head of UNIDO Operations in Armenia at the UN Office in Yerevan, Armenia. Her previous assignment during 11 years (1994-2005) was with the UNDP Office in Armenia as Portfolio Manager responsible for Environmental Programmes, Sustainable Agriculture, Community Development, Gender in Development and Prevention of HIV/AIDs. She holds a master of international affairs and journalism from Moscow State University. Apart from her native Armenian language, she speaks English, Russian and Hungarian.
